WITNESS

(1999)- Three youth and a homevideo camera capture the story of a youth organization at a moment in time when the mission of “for and by youth” dreamed up by adults, became a tramatic disillusionment for youth. At a time when young people are ignored, Witness forges an organizational history from the perspective of the youth affected by the ideals and theoretical concepts of youth empowerment. This is a story of three youth, who believed the adults who worked with them, when they claimed their right to tell their own story. Witness serves as a warning to adults to think deeply about the promises they make to young people.
